Kids That Do Drugs, Should Be Expelled Not Suspended
By: Shalyn K.

Kids should no longer be able to go to school in their district if they do any sort of drug. I think kids should be expelled instead of suspended because, fewer kids will do drugs, there will be less peer pressure in schools, and schools will be safer. I think this rule could nearly make schools drug proof.

To begin, a fewer number of kids will do drugs if schools switch from suspend to expel because expel is a more harsh argument than suspend. I think this because kids, need their education and they know if they got expelled it would be hard for them to get that. Even kids that don’t like school want to be successful as an adult. There for, they want their education even if it doesn’t seem like it. At the same time, it would be a more inforsive way of saying never do drugs. Kids who have learned to stay away will make a bigger effort in trying to stay away, and for the kids who are already addicted, they could try even harder to quit the nasty habit.

Also, there will be less peer pressure in schools. If fewer kids do drugs, fewer kids will have drugs to pressure kids with. An example of less peer pressure would be, if schools are more inforsive about drugs, then that will eventually get around to places that sell drugs, and they may no longer be able to sell drugs to anyone under the age of 18. Just a small change in a school could effect a city, a state, or maybe even a country. Like I said before, that means less drugs in schools, and that means less peer pressure in schools. Some schools already have a problem with bullying. Peer pressure is a form of bullying. We need to put a stop to bullying and drugs, and this is a way we can start.

The third and perhaps the most important reason, there will be less danger in schools. If kids in schools don’t have the option to get high on any drug, there is less possibility of them going insane and potentially injuring innocent people in the surrounding area. Other people should not suffer the consequences of drug addicts. This is a crucial reason that schools should expel instead of suspend. Kids in the past have died because of kids that were (are) on drugs. When another kid suffers the consequences of a drug addict, it is not fair. If anyone has to suffer the consequences of a drug addict, it should be the drug addict.

Drug addiction is a serious predicament. I want fewer students to suffer the consequences of drug addiction, and I can’t do it alone. All it takes is the small change of schools switching from suspend to expel. If schools help by making the change, NO MORE students will fall into the deep dark abyss of drug of the horrible thing, known as drug addiction. We need this abyss to get more shallow, and let all the kids in the world be safe of it. This is why I think Kids should be expelled instead of suspended if they do any sort of drug.
